The team of Ross Tooley visited Davao in 1973 and end up pastoring a church here in Davao, which is the Four-Square Church near Mt. Apo. They also did evangelism, and Helen Coromina was one of the young people who hears the gospel and was saved.

In 1979 Graeme and Mary Jones established a base in Davao in Mt. Apo at the back of the Four-Square Church. Their ministries include Bible Studies, selling books and bibles. Joel Bringas and Rheo Loseo were the product of the nightly bible study that they conducted.
Then YWAM took over the Mindanao Literature where they lend videos to the pastors in the mountains for film showing. They also work with DSWD since Mary Jones was a nurse and went to the said department twice a week.
Virgie Chumalan was one of the pioneers of YWAM Davao. They also work in 700 club as the receptionists for people who needs counseling and prayers.

1986

In 1986 they rented a place in Magallanes then they visited here in Holy Trinity as this land was for sale. They found a Palm tree that was dying. They prayed and told the Lord that if God will give this land to YWAM, then God will give them a sign by letting the dying Palm tree flourish after a week. When they came back the Palm tree was very much alive. After that Graeme Jones and Mary left.

In January 2021 a team of 9 people, seven from YWAM Butuan (Eddie, Liezel, Japhet, Lynda Grace, Lelyn, Jessica, Grace) and two from YWAM General Santos (Cristina and Edna) to relaunch the YWAM Davao Base.
The first three years of the relaunch was focused on setting the foundations through looking at and revamping the system (how the base was run). After setting the guidelines, goals, mission, vision, and expectations, the team set out to make the base livable and secure.
The first half of 2021 was repairing the broken building, preparing the housing for students and speakers. October 2021, we ran the first DTS on base in a few years.
